President Donald Trump couldn’t let the Americans’ hockey victory over Canada at the Winter Olympics pass without somehow achieving glory.

Earlier Monday, the president posted an artificial image of him about to score a goal; pushing Canadian defenders onto the ice; and punch one of them before sitting smugly in the penalty area. He then emerges to score what appears to be the winning goal as his American teammates embrace him.

He also shared a post with images of fawning disciple Kari Lake, who hailed him as “Trump, The ENFORCER!”

Trump appeared to follow the lead of his White House, which previously trolled its neighbor to the north and former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. “You can’t take our country and you can’t take our game,” Trudeau declared after Canada defeated the United States in the Four Nations showdown last year. That tournament took place while Trump was making noise about tariffs and talking about taking over Canada to become the 51st state.

The White House attached Trudeau’s words to an image of a bald eagle digging its talons into presumably a Canada goose.

After the Olympic gold medal final was decided in overtime on Sunday, the president published several Truth Social posts congratulating the US hockey team and Team USA as a whole on their record.

But earlier in the Games, he had called freestyle skier Hunter Hess a “loser” for expressing mixed feelings about representing the United States. Vice President JD Vance and other conservatives joined the chorus against members of the US team who spoke on political issues.
