Trump rages against the TRUE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE! On a rant after midnight
President Donald Trump escalated his feud with The New York Times early Tuesday, calling him a “TRUE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE!” and a security threat that must be “stopped” with a late night speech on Truth Social.
“The failed New York Times, and its deliberate lies and misrepresentations, is a serious threat to our nation’s national security,” he began. “Their radical left, their unhinged behavior, endlessly writing FAKE articles and opinions, must be addressed and stopped. THEY ARE A TRUE ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE! Thank you for you [sic] attention to this matter. PRESIDENT DJT.”
A Times report that his energy was waning last month led the president to call one of the story’s reporters “ugly” and the newspaper also then “ENEMY OF THE PEOPLE.”
It is not entirely clear what provoked Trump, who is in Florida, but the recent possibilities in the newspaper are many.
On Monday, Trump also accused the newspaper of downplaying his plan to reduce prescription drug costs.
“The New York Times ran a story about it, a small story, on the back page of the paper,” he said, according to The Daily Beast. “It’s the biggest thing that’s happened with drugs, probably in 50 years.”
Earlier this month, the newspaper sued Trump’s Pentagon and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth over new restrictions on the press.
