Trump reveals what test he took during unexpected visit to Walter Reed
President Donald Trump said Monday that he underwent an MRI test during a hastily announced visit to Walter Reed Medical Center earlier this month.
“I had an MRI,” he told reporters while on Air Force One before arriving in Japan. “It was perfect.”
Trump was asked what doctors were looking for in the test.
“You can ask the doctors,” he said. “No one has ever given you reports like I have.”
Trump, 79, said doctors told him it was “one of the best reports they’ve ever seen” given his age.

Trump’s Oct. 10 visit to Walter Reed came just six months after his annual physical and amid growing questions about the president’s health.
The White House issued a statement at the time saying Trump had received “advanced imaging” but did not provide details.
White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt declined to answer last week when asked if “advanced imaging” meant the president had undergone an MRI.
The White House released a statement from Trump’s doctor after the exam saying he was in “excellent overall health.”
Trump, who did not disclose medical records during the 2024 campaign, has been seen with swollen legs and bruises on his hand that he appears to cover with concealer.

The White House has said that the swelling is due to chronic venous insufficiency, which involves poor blood flow from the legs to the heart, and that the bruising is due to aspirin use and frequent handshakes.
Trump’s critics have also attacked his cognitive health, and at least two Democratic governors and a U.S. senator have suggested he has dementia.
But on Monday, the president said he also took cognitive tests while at Walter Reed, saying, “they really are aptitude tests.”
He boasted that he passed and then claimed that Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) and Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) couldn’t pass those same tests.

Trump: AOC has a low IQ. If you give him an IQ test, make him pass like the tests I decided to take when I was at Walter Reed. They’re very difficult… I guess they’re actually aptitude tests, in a way, but they’re cognitive tests. Let AOC go against Trump.

He didn’t name the test, but his description suggested it was the Montreal Cognitive Assessment, or the infamous “person, woman, man, camera, television” test he took in 2020 and has boasted of having passed since then.

Despite the president’s claims, it is neither an aptitude test nor an IQ test. It is intended to detect signs of cognitive decline related to dementia and, as such, is intended to be easy to pass off as someone with normal cognition.
