Trump slammed Bad Bunny’s halftime show and a high-profile friend couldn’t disagree more
Piers Morgan and President Donald Trump have a big difference of opinion about Bad Bunny’s Super Bowl LX halftime performance.
On Monday, Morgan came to Bad Bunny’s defense shortly after Trump shared an incoherent critique of the halftime show on his Truth Social platform.
“I couldn’t disagree more Mr. President. I loved Bad Bunny’s halftime show,” the British TV host and former CNN on X host wrote along with a screenshot of Trump’s post. “Incredible theatrics/choreography (the best in Super Bowl history?), great energy, superbly confident acting, and a very welcome unifying message.”
He went on to note, “Oh, and Spanish is the first language for more than 50 million Americans!”

In a follow-up post, Morgan clarified that he remains “friends with Donald Trump,” before adding, “I just don’t agree with him on a lot of things (and agree on others).”
Trump lashed out at Bad Bunny on Sunday night, calling the Latin pop superstar’s halftime show “absolutely terrible” and “one of the worst ever.”
“It makes no sense, is an affront to America’s greatness, and does not represent our standards of success, creativity, or excellence,” he wrote in Truth Social. “No one understands a word this guy says, and the dancing is disgusting, especially to little kids watching from all over America and around the world.”
The president’s firing of Bad Bunny, who hails from Puerto Rico and performs predominantly in Spanish, is not a surprise.
Six-time Grammy winner Bad Bunny has been an outspoken critic of Trump’s crackdown on immigration. She became the subject of conservative ridicule last year after confirming she would be skipping US venues on her I Should Have Thrown More Photos tour for fear that fans would be targeted by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).

Turning Point USA, the right-wing political group founded by slain activist Charlie Kirk, responded to the NFL’s selection of Bad Bunny as the 2026 halftime headliner by hosting an alternative “All-American Halftime Show.”
That MAGA-them educational show, which also took place on Sunday, was criticized and featured a performance by Kid Rock, who was widely accused of lip-synching. As for Trump, it seems he didn’t bother to tune in.
Morgan has been aligned with Trump for years, and first connected with the future US president after winning “The Celebrity Apprentice” in 2008.
