President Donald Trump has disputed a report that he will “probably” name his controversial White House ballroom after himself.

“I don’t have any plans to put my name on it, that was fake news,” he said while speaking to reporters outside the White House on Friday night. “We’ll probably call it the Presidential Hall or something. We haven’t thought of a name yet.”

That same day, ABC News Washington editor-in-chief Katherine Faulders had posted on social media that the president would “likely name the new $300 million ballroom after him,” citing senior administration officials. He said officials were “already” calling it “President Donald J. Trump’s ballroom” and that the name “would probably stick.”

His post quickly gained attention and sparked a fair amount of jokes.

On Saturday, Faulders responded to Trump’s comments about “fake news” by pointing out that the White House itself had provided ABC News with a document that used the name.
