Donald Trump returned to his “Apprentice” days with a strange comment about his son, Donald Trump Jr.

Don Jr. was appearing at Turning Point USA’s AmericaFest over the weekend, when he decided to call his father and put him on speaker.

“I may not be here today, but I wanted to make sure you had a chance to say hello,” Don Jr. said before shouting “Mr. President.”

Trump took the call, telling the audience, “I want to be with you, but I’ll be with you soon.”

“And I just want to say that no one did more for me than Charlie, and there is no one better than Erika. [Kirk]and you are the greatest people on Earth,” he said, before thanking the crowd and criticizing his son.

“I hope my son is doing a good job representing me, otherwise I’ll have to say, ‘You’re fired, Don. You’re fired,'” he said.

“So thank you very much and have a great day,” the president added before shooting Don Jr. one last time.

“I hope Don makes a great speech. If he doesn’t make a great speech, let me know, I’ll send him to hell,” he added, as the audience reacted with disquiet and scattered applause to his comments.

Turning Point’s AmericaFest conference had more than a few awkward missteps.

One of the strangest comments at the conference occurred when rapper Nicki Minaj said exactly the wrong thing during a meeting with Erika Kirk.

“Young people, you have incredible role models, like our handsome, handsome president,” Minaj said. “And you have incredible role models like the assassin JD Vance, our vice president.”

Minaj, whose real name is Onika Tanya Maraj, instantly realized the mistake she had made and covered her mouth with her hand.

Erika Kirk responded to Minaj’s mistake with aplomb, telling her, “Believe me, there’s nothing new under the sun that I haven’t heard. So you’re good.”
