Trump was asked about his performance of press secretaries. His answer took a strange turn.
President Donald Trump gave his press secretary, Karoline Leavitt, some quite specific compliments during a Friday’s interview with Newsmax.
When asked his opinion about his performance in his administration during the exchange, Trump commented on Leavitt’s face and lips.
“She has become a star,” he said. “It is that face. It is that brain. It is those lips, the way they move. They move as if it were a machine gun.”
After realizing that Leavitt was in the room, Trump doubled: “She is a star.”
He continued to say that Leavitt is a “great person” and added: “I don’t think anyone has had a better press secretary than Karoline. It has been incredible.”

Leavitt, who began working for the Trump administration in 2019 as a White House intern and a member of the correspondence office staff, made history in January 2025 when he became the youngest press secretary with only 27 years.
That same day, during a White House press conference on peace treaties, Leavitt also sprouted about his boss, stating: “It’s time for President Trump to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.”
