Trump’s Viral Photos Spark Backlash After People Alleged Shocking Rape In Background
President Donald Trump may be in favor of jailing people who burn the American flag, but what does he think of people who simply walk by when they appear to be lying on the ground?
It’s an important question, considering the president was photographed doing just that at the White House on Sunday night.
A photo taken by Getty Images photographer Mandel Ngan as Trump returned from Palm Beach shows the president walking next to a flagpole where the flag appears to be lowered to the ground.
This is a possible violation of the US Flag Code, which states that “the The flag should never touch anything beneath it, such as the ground, floor, water, or merchandise.”

White House spokesman Davis Ingle told People it was all “fake news.”
“The beautiful American flag on the South Lawn of the White House that was recently installed by President Trump never touched the ground,” he said in a statement. “Due to strong winds Sunday night in the Washington, DC area, the flag was lowered into a special container as a precaution during the landing of Marine One.”
Despite the White House’s denial, many people on social media were shocked by the unintentional symbolism the photo conveyed.
