The Russian attack against Kyiv kills more than a dozen people
A former Ukrainian speaker of Parliament who was an outstanding figure in the country’s proeuropean protest movements in 2004 and 2014 was shot dead on Saturday in western Ukraine, authorities said.
Andriy Parubiy, 54, who also served as Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, was killed in the city of Lvvv. Local media reports say that an armed man shot him several times as a messenger on an electronic bicycle, according to News themezone BBC News.
President Volodymyr Zelenskyy condemned him as a “horrible murder” and said that “all the necessary forces and means” would be used in the investigation.
Prosecutors opened a murder investigation and said the police were still looking for the shooter but have not mentioned possible reasons at this stage.
“An unidentified man fired several shots to the politician, killing Andriy Parubiy on the spot,” said the Office of the Attorney General.
The public station of Ukraine suspilne cited anonymous sources that said the shooter was dressed as a delivery pilot and was on an electric bicycle.

The photos that sought to show the crime scene were published by the Ukrainian media, showing a man with a bloody face found in the street.
Some of the tributes to the PARTOMY of Ukrainian officials hinted at suspicions against Russia.

Former President Petro Poroshenko said the murder of Parubiy was “a shot in the heart of Ukraine,” BBC News said.
“Andriy was a great man and a true friend. That’s why they come, that’s what they fear,” he wrote in Telegram.
Last month, one of the main members of the Ukraine Security Service, Colonel Ivan Voronychhe was killed in a bold daylight attack in Kyiv. Days later, the Ukraine Security Agency said it tracked and delicate Two Russian agents suspected of killing Voronych.
