Viral Robot Freakout Spare security concerns

In the viral clip, the full -size humanoid robot called Derex is suspended from a crane inside a Chinese factory. Surrounded by two handlers, suddenly he begins to hit their limbs without prior notice. The force is so intense that the close team demolishes and almost makes the crane collapse.

What triggered the wild behavior of the Unitree robot?

Cix Liv, the robots manager who shared the footage in X, offered a possible explanation, saying: “The technical reason is that we executed a full body policy while the feet were not touching the ground. Do not do that.”

In other words, the robot was executing full -body movements without contact with the floor, triggering a dangerous waterfall of erratic behavior.

We communicate with Unitree to comment, but we do not receive an answer before our deadline.

Previous Unitree Robot Incidents Lift Red Flags

This is not the first viral incident that involves a humanoid robot in Unitree. TO Similar event occurred in Maywhen another H1 model did not work violently during a test. The robot began to stir in the air, dispersing laboratory equipment and sending engineers fighting.

And, earlier this year, a separate humanoid Unitree surprised the crowds in a festival in China when suddenly staggered towards a security barrier. Although security acted quickly, the aggressive robot movement left many in the visibly shaken crowd.

What is artificial intelligence (AI)?

What this means for you

If you have ever wondered if robots could one day represent a real world threat, this footage does not help to relieve those fears. As advanced machines go from research laboratories to commercial use, risks become more real. Whether it is Robot Security, assistants with AI or automated delivery bots, safety tests must climb quickly to keep up. These incidents show that the powerful hardware combined with defective software can have dangerous consequences.

Kurt’s Key Takeways

The Robot Robot video was real, without filter and disturbing. It is a reminder that, while robots become more capable, they are not yet perfect and sometimes they are unpredictable. As AI and robotics evolve, the line between useful and dangerous is becoming more and more blurred. Regulation, transparency and security tests cannot be thought subsequent.
