WHOOPI GOLDBERG asks
In the episode of Monday of “The View”, Whoopi Goldberg raised a surprising question in the middle of a group discussion of President Donald Trump.
The panelists were discussing Trump’s recent “Meet The Press” interview, in which he was asked about mass deportation and if he has the duty to maintain the Constitution. Trump seemed unknown to his obligation to “defend the rights of due process established in the Constitution,” said News.
After a clip of the interview, a visibly frustrated Goldberg reminded the spectators the presidential oath that Trump has now taken twice, in which he promised to “preserve, protect and defend the constitution of the United States.”
“So I don’t know why you don’t remember it, because we saw you say it,” he said, exasperated. “This is not ai. That was you, twice.”
Goldberg did not put the words, and added that Trump should “not be president” if he is not aware of the duties of his role, and should stop behaving as if the American people were “the idiots” in this narrative.
“You know the work, and yes, you know that you are violating your oath in doing so,” he continued.
Then he asked a simple question for the table: “Or am I crazy?”

The hosts host Sunny Hostin went to the aid of Goldberg and quickly replied: “No, you are not.”
Hostin, a former federal prosecutor, said that even in his own government role, he felt the weight of his oath.
“I made the oath to maintain the Constitution … When you say those words, it feels heavy. It really feels,” he recalled.
Hostin added that after being an oath, he felt that he needed to reread the Constitution he had studied at the Law School because “it is very important.”
