Apple’s Annual World Developer Conference (WWDC) began on Monday and extends until Friday. But the company based in Cupertino is not making us wait until the end. Where is Siri? Apple’s assistant still disappears in action

Notably absent were Siri’s main updates. Last year, Apple announced a more dynamic version of its virtual assistant. Many of those promised characteristics remain unpublished.

Craig Federight, Senior Vice President of Apple software engineering, during the key note, only gave Siri a passing mention.

“As we have shared, we continue our work to deliver the characteristics that make Siri even more personal,” he said. “This work needed more time to get to our high quality bar, and we hope to share more about it in the next year.”

That vague timeline of “in next year” suggests that we will not see Major Siri News until 2026 as very early.

Definitely, this is not good news for the company, since competitors exceed updates every few weeks. Apple originally launched the new Siri as the next great step for the company, with personalized capabilities based on its relationships, conversations, routines and more. But a year later, those ambitions are still just promises. In fact, the new Siri experience is currently available only in Beta Limited in iPhone 15 Pro models and select iPads or Mac with M series chips, which further underlines the slow deployment.
