Hogan supported President Donald Trump during the 2024 presidential elections and was already considered a polarizing and controversial figure after the filtered audio showed him by making racist comments. He lost favor with some Pro Wrestling fans for that.

Green’s comments about Hogan took a violent reaction from fans on social networks, and addressed them in an initial publication.

“An important part of my role in @WWE implies involving the public and answering the questions, often on live platforms,” Green wrote in X. “Yesterday they asked me to comment on Hulk Hogan on live television. Let me clarify: my position on racism is not available. I do not drive it, period.

“If my answer (or tweet) seemed derogatory of real concerns, I sinitely apologize. That was never my intention. I tried to recognize a death respectfully, even when the legacy is complicated. I am learning one day at the same time and I will continue learning.”

The reaction seemed to continue, and Green completely moved away from social networks.

“I have tried to maintain my positive and comic page, but today, much changed … and hit more than I expected. The name called, the death threats, the faceless accounts,” he added.

“Social networks were supposed to be a fun place and it hasn’t been for a while. It has been overwhelming and I need to get away a bit.”

Hogan died Thursday after suffering a possible heart event at his home in Florida.
